- Develop systems, processes and procedures that ensure the company complies with environmental legislation.
- Integrate environmentally sustainable principles, heightening awareness and responsibility within our policies, practices and/or services, including our staff and supply chain.
- Identify, prioritise and implement control mechanisms to mitigate the environmental effects inherent with our business activity.
- Be transparent and communicate our environmental policy and practices to staff and other stakeholders. As well as with those that sit within our supply chain.
- Encourage best practices to minimise carbon-dioxide emissions associated with staff commuting to work by cars and business trips as well as being prudent with the use of energy.
- Apply the principles of the waste hierarchy (reduce, reuse and recycle) in all of our processes.
- When conducting operations, ensuring they are done in an economically and environmentally sound and sustainable manner.
- Work with local, regional and/or national stakeholders to realise sustainability goals.
- MTR has created a culture whereby within the organisation our team promote and embrace positive environmental management.
- Promote sustainable development by the efficient use of natural resources, and minimising consumption.
- This policy and MTRs practices are regularly reviewed and updated by external agencies to ensure relevance, and to ensure a constant drive for improvement.
