At MTR we understand the importance of further strengthening our green credentials by identifying, monitoring, measuring, and reporting all environmental aspects of MTRs business, and reducing the potential impacts. To fulfil this commitment, we will:

  • Develop systems, processes and procedures that ensure the company complies with environmental legislation.
  • Integrate environmentally sustainable principles, heightening awareness and responsibility within our policies, practices and/or services, including our staff and supply chain.
  • Identify, prioritise and implement control mechanisms to mitigate the environmental effects inherent with our business activity.
  • Be transparent and communicate our environmental policy and practices to staff and other stakeholders. As well as with those that sit within our supply chain.
  • Encourage best practices to minimise carbon-dioxide emissions associated with staff commuting to work by cars and business trips as well as being prudent with the use of energy.
  • Apply the principles of the waste hierarchy (reduce, reuse and recycle) in all of our processes.
  • When conducting operations, ensuring they are done in an economically and environmentally sound and sustainable manner.
  • Work with local, regional and/or national stakeholders to realise sustainability goals.
  • MTR has created a culture whereby within the organisation our team promote and embrace positive environmental management.
  • Promote sustainable development by the efficient use of natural resources, and minimising consumption.
  • This policy and MTRs practices are regularly reviewed and updated by external agencies to ensure relevance, and to ensure a constant drive for improvement.
